Mr Robinson has held various senior commercial positions with WMC Resources in Australia and North America from 1994 until 2003. Together with a team of former WMC geologists, he founded Encounter Resources in 2004 assembling a portfolio of exploration projects in Western Australia.

Mr Robinson has been president of the AMEC executive council.
