Wendy Malcolm
Wendy Malcolm is a senior project manager with Saab Systems Australia and has an extensive background in defence, logistics and program management.
She joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1987 and studied at the University of New South Wales, completing a Bachelor of Science (Physics) in 1989, followed by a Masters in Commercial Law at Deakin University in 2001. Ms Malcolm had a diverse career in the Navy including operational service in East Timor, program management in shipbuilding, upgrade and sustainment, and experience in commercial and project management in logistics, weapons upgrade and operational planning. She was responsible for program management and sustainment of the Navy’s ANZAC Warships based in Perth and Sydney. Ms Malcolm's leadership and strategic approach as the ANZAC Systems Program Office Director delivered a complete rethink of the commercial approach to supporting and upgrading the warships, resulting in significant savings and better operational availability to the Royal Australian Navy.
She left the Navy having completed 28 years service and was awarded a Conspicuous Service Medal in the Australia Day Honours List 2015.
