Jandakot Airport expansion a step closer
The federal government has approved a fourth runway at Jandakot Airport and cleared the path for a proposal to develop 148 hectares of surrounding non-aviation land.
Warren Truss was the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development and Leader of The Nationals. From 2006 to 2007, he was Minister for Trade in the Howard Government. Mr Warren was first elected to the House of Representatives for Wide Bay, Queensland in 1990. In January 2001, Mr Truss was awarded the Centenary Medal for his services as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. In 2014, the South Burnett Regional Council named their Kingaroy Chambers the 'Warren Truss Chamber' in recognition of his time as Mayor of the former Kingaroy Shire. He retired from politics in 2016.
