Wal King

Wallace (Wal) King AO is a civil engineer and has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years. He was chief executive of Leighton Holdings, a company with substantial operations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, from 1987 until his retirement on 31 December 2010. He remains a consultant. Mr King was made Officer of the Order of Australia in 2004 for his service to the Australian construction industry and is also widely recognised for his services to the community through support for a range of educational, environmental, welfare and cultural organisations. He was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2001.
