Vidal Hockless was a partner of Kott Gunning since 1985 and was managing partner between 1997 and 2005. Since 1985, he has been either partner-in-charge or a senior member of the firm’s damages litigation, insurance and/or employment law and OSH teams. Kott Gunning ceased operations in December 2021, and Mr Hockless joined Moray & Agnew.
Mr Hockless’s practice has been primarily in the area of casualty/liability insurance, employers’ indemnity and workers’ compensation. Much of his work involves supervision, coaching, client and in-house training, consulting and collaboration.
Mr Hockless' industry affiliations include NIBA, AILA, Law Council of Australia, and the Law Society of WA of which he is a long-standing member of the Personal Injuries Committee.
He is recognised in Doyles Guide as the Leading Workers Compensation Lawyers (Defendant) in Western Australia, 2016.
