Shell appoints new chair
Shell has announced forthcoming changes to its board with Zoe Yujnovich to be replaced by Tony Nunan as the new executive vice-president of Australia and country chair.
Tony Nunan has been with Shell Australia since February 2016 and was the vice president of East (Australia) becoming executive vice president for Australia and country chair in January 2020. He was then appointed to a newly created role of chief of staff and corporate relations in May 2023, based in London.
Prior to Shell, Mr Nunan was the managing director of QGC, based in Brisbane. He joined QGC in 2008 as legal counsel just prior to the company's acquisition by BG Group. In 2009, he was appointed general manager, land and community with responsibility for negotiating land access and native title rights. Mr Nunan then became its vice president, asset management where he was responsible for managing assets and business interests within the QCLNG project. In December 2013, he was appointed BG Group's vice president of operations.
Mr Nunan was a member of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association's Queensland Industry Leadership Group.
He holds degrees in Land Resource Science from the University of Queensland, and Law from the University of New England.
