Tony Fini has been in the construction and property development industry since 1956, starting as a project home builder and expanding into property and land development in the late 1960s.
His first apartment project was a 99-apartment development in Pheonix Park (Spearwood). From there, Mr Fini developed units and townhouses in South Perth, Como and surroundings after which he branched out into inner city apartments in the early 1990s.
He sold Fini Group to Mirvac in 2001, as he was going to retire to his Fini Olives grove near Gingin but after 10 years of semi-retirement, he came back into the industry at the helm of Fini Developments. Mr Fini also notably sold his retirement village portfolio to investment bank Babcock & Brown and prominent retirement village player Primelife Corporation for $180 million in 2007.
