Cisco centre builds linkages
A recently opened research and innovation centre at Curtin University is rapidly building interaction between big corporates, small businesses, academia and government.
Tom Goerke is the lead for Cisco in its alliance with Curtin University and Woodside for the Cisco IoE Innovation Centre Western Australia. The centre is an alliance between Cisco, Curtin University and Woodside Petroleum, focusing on developing innovative solutions in the areas of astronomy, agriculture, resources and energy, and smart campus.
Educated at Curtin University, Mr Goerke has worked for global organisations including Inmarsat, ICO Global Communications and Cisco Systems in the UK and Australia.
He holds multiple patents in the field of satellite communications, and has experience in ICT including both technical and commercial roles in mobile operators and network vendors.
