Tom French specialises in commercial dispute resolution including litigation, domestic and international arbitration in the resources, shipping, transport, trade, construction, insurance and professional practices sectors. Before joining Clyde & Co, Mr French spent two years as a barrister at a leading commercial chambers in Sydney. Prior to joining the Bar, he worked for a judge as an associate in the commercial division of the Supreme Court of Western Australia after spending the first few years of his career in commercial litigation at a top tier law firm in Australia. He has appeared in all superior courts in New South Wales and Western Australia, and the Federal Court and Full Federal Court of Australia, on appeals, trials and interlocutory matters. He has also appeared in the High Court of Australia. Mr French is currently completing his masters of laws through the University of Melbourne, with a focus on commercial dispute resolution and international trade. He has been published on the admissibility of expert evidence in the Australian Insurance Law Bulletin.
