Tim Lyons has some three decades of experience in financial markets. He started his career in stockbroking at T.A. James in Perth, before joining Ray Porter at Ray Porter and Partners as a founding partner in 1984. The business changed its name to become Porter Western Limited, and Tim went on to become the Managing Director and major shareholder in this business, that was recognised as a market leader in WA.
Tim was also a Member of the ASX before its demutualisation and subsequent listing, and was a Responsible Executive for Porter Western at the Australian Stock Exchange. In 1999 Tim and his fellow Directors sold the Porter Western business in a merger with Macquarie Bank Limited. Tim became a Divisional Director for Macquarie and continued to help drive the growth of their business in WA for more than ten years.
Tim is the inaugural Executive Chairman of Blackswan Equities, and also has become a major shareholder of the business. He is looking forward to using his extensive knowledge and relationships in Perth to help build the business and to create something special for investors in the Australian Stock Exchange.
