JV hones mine drilling technology
Perth-based mining technology company Qteq will use a $2.8 million federal grant to bring oil and gas technology into the mining industry.

Dr Tim Hopper was a Fulbright Scholar with a PhD in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He has 19 patents to his name, and has published more than a dozen technical papers.
Dr Hopper was the managing director of geophysics services providers Surtech Systems and NMR Services Australia, both owned by his company Hopper Industrial Group which is later sold to Orica in November 2021. He then became the chief executive and managing diretcor of Orica's orebody intelligence unit.
Dr Hopper was also the managing director of RIG Technologies, agribusiness Moorlands Estate and QRA Software. He spent 10 years at Schlumberger as a wireline field engineer, senior research scientist, project manager (LWD NMR) and petro-physicist. He also worked for an African explorer as its principal petro-physicist.
