Tim Fraser has been the executive director of local government at the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries since March 2021.
Prior to that, he was chief of staff to the Minister for Housing, Fisheries, Veterans Issues and Asian Engagement; as all as chief of staff to the Minister for Tourism, Racing and Gaming, Defence Issues, Small Business and Multicultural Interests following the ALP's victory in the 2017 election. He had served as police minister Michelle Robert's chief of staff in the Gallop government and later as chief of staff for minister energy and resources minister Fran Logan. During the period of the Barnett government, he worked in positions within the Department of State Development.
Mr Fraser married Rita Saffioti in 2006.
