Senate gives green light to $10b housing fund
A $10 billion fund that will be used to build thousands of social and affordable homes has passed the Senate after months of negotiations.

Tim Ayres is an Australian politician and a member of the Australian Labor Party. He has been a Senator for New South Wales since 2019.
Following the Labor Party's victory at the 2022 federal election, Mr Ayres became the Assistant Minister for Trade under the Albanese government.
Prior to politics, he was a trade union official with the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union.
