Iluka, Northern Star narrow project focus
Iluka Resources intends to demerge its rutile business in West Africa, while Northern Star is set to pocket $44.5 million from divesting two gold projects.
Theuns de Bruyn has over 23 years of experience in the mineral sector, starting his career with BHP Billiton where he worked across various commodities and departments including engineering and business development.
Mr de Bruyn has held a range of senior positions including as executive vice president of processing at Lonmin Platinum and as chief operating officer of Metorex. He joined Iluka Resources in August 2019 and was chief operating officer of Sierra Rutile in August 2019 before becoming chief executive of Sierra Rutile in January 2021.
