Kalia Ltd will pitch a proposed agreement to shareholders whereby the Perth-based junior explorer’s interest in two exciting Bougainville copper-gold exploration licences will increase by 38% to 75%. If approved, Kalia will issue 480 million new shares to Global Resources Investment Trust in a deal that will give Kalia a significantly higher stake in the lucrative island.

Kalia Limited has announced that a detailed geophysical survey is well underway at its Mt Tore JV tenements on Bougainville Island in the PNG. The highly anticipated exploration program across its porphyry copper-gold assets is ramping up with geological reconnaissance and geochemical sampling underway in the Aita area. The company’s active engagement of local communities is bearing fruit now, with a number of areas already approved for on-ground exploration activities.

Kalia Limited has been busy doing the geological ground work to systematically unlock the mineral riches on Bougainville Island from early next year. It has now completed a highly anticipated geophysical survey over the Mt Tore JV tenements and commenced data interpretation for the exploration of its porphyry copper-gold assets. The company’s engagement of local communities is bearing fruit, with a number of areas already approved for exploration.

Kalia Limited has delineated a new exploration target at its Teosiri prospect on Bougainville Island in PNG, with rock chip sampling turning up assays of 2.76 g/t gold, 4.9g/t silver, 0.32% copper, 1.22% lead and 2.4% zinc. The company is also finalising an independent geophysical analysis report from a detailed airborne survey completed last year, which will guide future exploration programs across its Toro JV tenements.

Kalia Limited’s geophysical interpretation of airborne data collected over its Mt Tore JV tenements on Bougainville Island has generated 64 exploration targets, with 12 priority positions identified as potential intrusive complexes and pathways for copper/gold mineralisation. The company is presently conducting on-site ground geological reconnaissance, with drilling on priority targets expected to commence next quarter.
