Aboriginal heritage laws an ‘absolute minimum’
WA’s new Aboriginal heritage laws have been broadly welcomed but raised concerns about the capacity of Indigenous corporations to deliver on their new responsibilities.

Terry Drage is a Pinikura Traditional Owner and has been an active participant in the Pinikura Community.
Having been raised in Onslow by his grandparents, great grandmother and extended family, Mr Drage feels he has lived a privileged life being taught about country, language, and culture. He passes on his knowledge to his three children and the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura (PKKP) Community through his involvement on the PKKP board and various sub-committees. Mr Drage became chair of the PKKP Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC in March 2023.
Mr Drage has been a heritage consultant and offers invaluable insight and support on the importance of preserving heritage and protecting country for the benefit of future generations.
