Dr Tamara Hunter is an experienced and highly qualified general and paediatric gynaecologist, fertility specialist, and founder of innovative women’s health centre WOOM. She is also a respected media commentator in Perth, and uses her social media platforms to raise awareness and educate patients about a range of health issues.
Dr Hunter was the first female doctor from Western Australia to obtain a Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI), the highest qualification available to a fertility specialist in Australia.
Before becoming a doctor, she was an exercise physiologist and corporate health consultant in Sydney. In 1999, she helped set up and operated the Sydney Heart Image, an interventional cardiology and preventative health centre. In 2000, Dr Hunter began studying Medicine and returned to Perth in 2004 where she set up WOOM in 2020. WOOM provides evidence-based medicine and holistic lifestyle support.
She is a member of the executive committee of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ANZREI), and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG).
