Fire company cops $500,000 fine
A company that unlawfully imported hydrofluorocarbon products into Western Australia has been hit with the largest fine ever issued under Australia’s ozone protection laws.
Sussan Ley is an Australian politician and a member of the Liberal Party, who was first elected to the House of Representatives for Farrer, New South Wales in 2001.
She was the Federal Minister for Health, Sport (both 2014-2017) and Aged Care (2015-2017), prior to which she was Assistant Minister for Education. In August 2018, Ms Ley was appointed Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories under the Morrison government. In 2019, she became Minister for the Environment until May 2022 when the Liberal Party was defeated at the federal election. A week later, Ms Ley was elected deputy leader of the Liberal Party. She was also appointed Shadow Minister for Skills, Industry, Training & Women, Small & Family Business under the Dutton shadow ministry.
