Susan Rooney was the CEO for the Cancer Council WA 2002-2017 before becoming CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society in May 2017. CCWA is the States leading cancer control organisation providing leading edge specialist support services to around 35 000 people annually; delivering internationally recognised prevention and education programs; funding peer reviewed cancer research and advocating to ensure that governments take action on cancer. CCWA has an annual operating budget of $36.2m, net assets of $47.5m and an additional $6.7 m in special purpose trusts; it has 180 core specialist staff, a network of contracted service providers and over 800 trained volunteers.
