Freight demand to double by 2030
The state’s ports could handle a trade of more than one billion tonnes per annum by 2030 if demand for iron ore exports continues on its current trajectory.
Sue McCarrey is an experienced national regulator who has held senior leadership roles particularly in managing reforms, legislative frameworks and cultural change.
Ms McCarrey will become chief executive of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) from February 2023. She is currently the chief executive and national rail safety regulator at the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator, and a member of the CEO advisory group for National Women in Transport.
Ms McCarrey holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education.
