Stewart Howe is a mining and chemical engineer with extensive senior management experience in the global lead and zinc industry. He spent over twelve years providing advisory roles to boards, private equity and financiers related to restructuring and acquisition of mining assets.
Mr Howe spent six years as chief development officer of Zinifex where he oversaw the spin-off of Zinifex’s smelters to create Nyrstar NV, and restarting development of the Dugald River Mine now owned by MMG. He also spent 23 years at BP in various executive and management roles.
He has advised the South Australian Government for six years on its financial support for redevelopment of the Port Pirie lead smelter. Mr Howe is also an experienced company director, as chair of Whittle Consulting Group and board member of a government-owned water authority and not-for-profit organisations.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical), Master of Engineering (Mining), Master of Applied Finance, and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Chartered Professional of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
