Labour, property prices stifling architects
Perth architecture firms are still waiting for the post-GFC recovery to lure private sector developers back into the market.
Steve Woodland has been involved in major public projects in Western Australia and internationally, including him winning the Oman Renaissance Museum international competition. Western Australian projects include the Albany Entertainment Centre, the Western Australian Maritime Museum, Kings Street Arts Centre, Office of the Premier and Cabinet Room, Royal Automobile Club Headquarters in Perth, University of Western Australia Research and Development Centre, Perth District Courts, Fremantle Justice Complex, and the Rockingham Justice Complex.
He also served for two terms as Western Australian Government Architect, reporting directly to the Premier and Treasurer.
Mr Woodland has received numerous individual awards including the Gold Award from the Quaternario Foundation in Italy, and the Trophee Archizinc Prix Special in Paris.
