Steve Scudamore AM has provided financial advice to a wide range of companies in a variety of industries particularly with mining and exploration, oil and gas, utilities, government, and insurance.
He joined KPMG's London office in 1973 where he obtained his chartered qualification. In 1978, Mr Scudamore transferred to Perth and was appointed an audit and advisory partner in 1984. From 1993, Mr Scudamore was executive director and partner of KPMG Corporate Finance in Australia and became managing partner of its Western Australia office from 2003 to 2011.
Mr Scudamore joined MDA National’s Insurance Board in July 2012 and was appointed chairman of the Insurance Board on 11 October 2014. In March 2018, he was appointed to the board of Malaysian group Selangor Properties.
Mr Scudamore is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England, Wales and Australia (FCA); Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors; and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (SF Fin). He is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Arts in History and Economics from Oxford University.
Mr Scudamore was a finalist in the Business Award category of the 2019 Western Australian Of The Year Awards. In 2023, he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for significant service to business and commerce, and to the mining and resources sector.
