Private equity on the march in WA but deals scarce
Private equity funds are scouring Western Australia, looking to invest in local businesses but only a handful of deals have been completed.
Steve Ledger is a commercially-focused professional with vast experience throughout Australia, UK, and US. As the founder of Ledger Corporate Chartered Accountants in 2003, he provides commercial advisory and compliance services to clients ranging from private individuals and businesses to large public listed companies in a variety of specialist areas including specialist tax, personal and business advice. Mr Ledger is a non-executive director of ArcelorMittal Projects Australia, the world’s leading steel and mining company. He also acts as company secretary for Golden Saint Australia and New World Energy. He has experience in numerous industries including finance and banking, property, mining and resources, energy, retail, hospitality and tourism, medical, and not-for-profit organisations. Mr Ledger has been involved in large scale corporate finance transactions ranging from $3m to $500m. Prior to establishing Ledger Corporate, Mr Ledger worked at Halifax Bank of Scotland, Zurich Financial Services, Anaconda Nickel, and was head of tax at Masterkey Custom (National Australia Bank) in Perth.
