Perron and UWA to reap $70m windfall

The Perron Institute is kicking commercial goals, courtesy of big sales royalties and a planned ASX listing.
With over 35 years experience in the government and private sectors, Steve Arnott has considerable skills in strategic management, financial and accounting management, and policy development. He held positions on Government Statutory Authorities and on Western Australian Government Industry Development Agencies where his role was to facilitate industry development across a range of industries in Western Australia. Dealing with the highest levels of private enterprise and government, Mr Arnott was instrumental in securing significant investment in value adding and service-based industries in Western Australia and played a crucial role in infrastructure development and research commercialisation.

The Perron Institute is kicking commercial goals, courtesy of big sales royalties and a planned ASX listing.
A nine-year old licencing deal signed on behalf of WA medical researchers is continuing to deliver returns, with US company Sarepta Therapeutics paying $11.5 million in royalties last year.
Nine medical research projects at the Perron Institute will receive a share of $1 million in funding from philanthropists Ralph and Patricia Sarich.
Former premier Colin Barnett, scientists Carol Bower and David Blacker and mining executive Philip Crabb are among the 112 Western Australians recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List for 2023.
