NBN activations, revenue up in Q3
NBN Co says it has connected 670,000 premises in the March quarter, with 11.2 million homes and businesses connected to the broadband network by March 31.
Stephen Rue has been the chief executive and executive director of NBN Co since September 2018, having joined the company in July 2014 as chief financial officer.
Prior to NBN Co, Mr Rue was the chief financial officer of News Limited for over a decade and managed all aspects of Newscorp Australia's financial affairs as well as heading up strategy and transformation. He was also a board member of several associated companies including ASX-listed REA Group, Foxtel, AAP Associated Press and Community Newspapers Perth. Following salary cap issues, Mr Rue became chair of Melbourne Storm where he oversaw the resurrection of the club, culminating in a Premiership victory in 2012 and the successful sale of the club in May 2013.
Born in Dublin Ireland, Mr Rue emigrated to Australia in 1991.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors.
