Stephen King joined Wood & Grieve Engineers (WGE) as a fire project engineer in 2010 after six years in another large Australian engineering consultancy. He has a strong mixture of fire engineering and fire services experience, which are complementary and enable confidence to being able to respond to queries and advise on all things “fire”. His experience in Fire Safety Engineering and Fire Services includes a wide range of activities on a diverse mix of projects from the initial concept stages through construction and to ongoing post-occupancy reviews. Mr King's Fire Services experience includes concept, schematic and detailed design, tender documentation and ongoing project management during construction of various fire safety systems. Fire Safety Engineering activities include identification of the Fire Engineering scope, proposed solutions, engineering calculations and production of Fire Engineering Brief and Reports for Authority approval of Alternative Building Solutions. Project roles include ongoing liaison with clients, authorities and contractors, internal supervision of engineers and draftspersons, review of installation, testing and commissioning works. In July 2011, Mr King became an associate of WGE and a principal in 2015 following his appointment as Fire Section Manager in 2014.
