Well known Perth businessman and philanthropist, Stan Perron AM famously left school aged 14 to sell his own 'fretwork' wood carvings and became a "half owner in a truck" aged 18. He went on to invest in Lang Hancock mining ventures in the 1950s and Toyota franchises in the 1960s. Mr Perron had been known for his land development and charitable works. He passed away in November 2018, aged 96.
