Horizon Power, TAFE in training partnership
North Metropolitan TAFE students will have hands-on experience and training in renewable energy infrastructure after the campus signed an agreement with Horizon Power.
Simone McGurk is the Labor Party Member of the Western Australia Legislative Assembly for Fremantle.
She was the Minister for Child Protection, Women's Interests, Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence, and Community Services in the McGowan government following Labor's win in the 2017 state election. In the 2022 cabinet reshuffle, Ms McGurk became the Minister for Training, Water, and Youth.
Following the resignation of Mr McGowan in June 2023, Ms McGurk kept the same portfolios as Minister for Training, Water and Youth under the Cook government. In a cabinet reshuffle in December 2023, she became the Minister for Training & Workforce Development, Water, and Industrial Relations.
Prior to entering Parliament, Ms McGurk was Secretary of UnionsWA, board member of Western Australian State Training, and board member of AustralianSuper. She was also a producer at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
