Southern Roads secures $5m contracts
The state government has awarded two contracts valued at nearly $5 million to Southern Roads Services to upgrade highways near Mount Barker and Balingup.
Simon O'Brien was the Liberal Party Member of the Legislative Council for the South Metropolitan Region from 1997 until his retirement in 2021. He became Minister for Transport and Disability Services in the new Barnett ministry in 2008. The ministry was reshuffled in 2010, after which O'Brien was instead appointed Minister for Finance, Minister for Commerce, and Minister for Small Business until 2013.
In 2017, Mr O'Brien was appointed Deputy President of the Legislative Council. He was appointed Shadow Minister for Electoral Affairs under Liza Harvey's Shadow Cabinet in 2019 and retain all portfolios in the cabinet reshuffle under Zak Kirkup in December 2020.
