Simon Mordant

Simon Mordant AO AM is the executive co-chair of Luminis Partners and chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. Mr Mordant was Australian Commissioner for the 2015 Venice Biennale, director of MoMA PS1 in New York, Trustee of the American Academy in Rome, member of the International Council of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, member of the Executive Committee of the Tate International Council, director of the Garvan Research Foundation, member of the Wharton Executive Board for Asia, and member of the Italian Advisory Board for Venetian Heritage. Mr Mordant was knighted in Italy and awarded Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Stella d'Italia-Knighted in the Order of the Star of Italy. In 2012, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the arts and to the cultural environment of Australia through philanthropic and executive roles, and to the community. In 2020, Mr Mordant was promoted to an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished services to the visual arts at the national and international level, to emerging artists, and to philanthropy.
