Shane McLeay is a mining engineer with over 25 years of experience in the resource sector. He has a strong track record in starting up and operating mines of varying scale, in project management, building highly capable teams, and overseeing operational ramp-up to steady-state production.
Mr McLeay is the founder and managing director of Entech, an international mining consulting firm specialising in mining studies and project due diligence with emerging and major mining companies on projects across North, Central and South America, Africa and Australasia. He has consulted to numerous operations, specialising in the study and execution of new mining projects.
Prior to starting Entech in 2010, Mr McLeay was the general manager of St Barbara’s Gwalia underground gold mine, taking the project from early-stage mine development through plant construction and into steady-state production over a 4-year period.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (with honours) from the WA School of Mines in Kalgoorlie (Curtin University), and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
