Shane Love is the National Party Member of the Legislative Assembly for Moore. He was elected the party's deputy leader in March 2020, with a key focus of restoring the integrity of a Royalty for Regions program.
Between 2004-2013 Mr Love was president of the Shire of Dandaragan, capping 12 years as a local government councillor.
Following the 2021 WA state elections, Mr Love became deputy leader of the opposition; manager of opposition business; and Shadow Minister for transport, mines and petroleum, and climate action. He was given responsibility for the Local Government portfolio in March 2022, as part of the changes to the National-Liberal Alliance Shadow Ministry. In late January 2023, Mr Love became the leader of Nationals WA and leader of the opposition following the resignation of Mia Davies. The National-Liberal Alliance was formed in February 2023 and Mr Love became the Shadow Minister for regional development, transport, jobs & trade, climate action, finance, federal-state relations, public sector management, and government accountability. In October 2023, Mr Love relinquished the climate action portfolio to newly minted state MP Louise Kingston.
