Shane Entriken has over 25 years of experience as a lawyer in private practice, and as a business executive. He has held a number of senior roles across different commodities within the global mining and energy sector.
He also has experience in state and local government, utilities, energy and resources, construction and infrastructure, asset management, health, education, engineering and contracting, transport, agribusiness, tourism and hydrocarbon sectors.
Mr Entriken acts for clients in the areas of employment law, workplace health and safety, regulatory prosecutions, privacy, board governance and compliance, contract disputes and litigation in courts & tribunals. He has extensive employment and industrial law experience, including major organisational change as well as reviewing executive remuneration schemes
Mr Entriken joined Piper Alderman when it opened a Perth office in July 2021 and has been appointed a partner of its employment relations team. Prior to that, he was a partner and head of workplace relations, health and safety at Allion Partners; special counsel at HopgoodGanim; three years as vice president at Adani Group; as well as executive roles at BHP and Rio which included serving as BHP’s head of human resources, global iron ore.
Mr Entriken is an accomplished company director, serving on the board of Crime Stoppers Western Australia and was director of a cattle production business.
He lectures at Murdoch University in the unit Legal Strategy in Organisations, is the co-author of a book on the management of FIFO operations in mining, and a regular speaker including for the postgraduate programs at the Governance Institute of Australia.
