Mineral exploration company, Great Southern Mining has commenced a moving loop electromagnetic survey that is looking to generate magmatic nickel sulphide drill targets across some 70 square kilometres of ground at its East Laverton nickel project in WA. The company believes the tenure to be prospective for hosting large nickel sulphide deposits geologically akin to several recent discoveries in WA, including the celebrated Nova-Bollinger discovery in the Fraser Range.

Great Southern Mining is ploughing nearly 8,000 metres of aircore drilling into the Amy Clarke gold prospect within its Duketon tenements in Western Australia. Drilling is aimed at seeking out the source of a 4km long gold in soil anomaly that the company says exhibits uncanny similarities in size and tenor to Regis Resources nearby 2.1 million ounce Garden Well gold mine.

Great Southern Mining has identified multiple bedrock anomalies considered prospective for nickel mineralisation in its recent electromagnetic survey at its East Laverton Nickel project in WA. One identified anomaly spanned a massive 2km by 1km and lined up with the edge of a regional gravity anomaly that Great Southern says provides further evidence of a potential blind nickel sulphide discovery.

ASX-listed Great Southern Mining has the rods turning again with two 160m diamond holes at its Southern Star prospect designed to build on some previous stunning intercepts and increase its understanding of the deposit. Meanwhile, an oversubscribed capital raise of $1.6m before costs will help Great Southern fund further drilling in WA and Queensland.
