Cloud closer with Perth local zone
Amazon Web Services’ local head of enterprise talks to Business News about bringing compute and storage capacity closer to Perth users.
Sarah Bassett has led technology company Amazon Web Services' Western Australian, South Australian and Queensland enterprise business since July 2017.
Ms Bassett studied at the Wisconsin School of Business, gaining a Bachelor of Arts, Business and Marketing degree before joining Dell as a product marketing manager in Austin, Texas, in 1999. She joined Halliburton in 2002, serving as marketing manager and later director of marketing and commercialisation before migrating to Perth to lead the expansion of its software portfolio to energy clients across Australia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
Ms Bassett was senior sales manager for almost three years before making the move to Amazon in 2017. At Amazon she was tasked with expanding its cloud computing subsidiary, particularly in the mining, energy and industrial markets.
