Sam Lim is a Malaysian-born Australian politician and a member of the Australian Labor Party. He was elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the 2022 federal election, representing the Division of Tangney in Western Australia.
Mr Lim spent two years as a police constable with the Royal Malaysian Police Force before leaving to become a dolphin trainer. He then went on to run several small businesses in Malaysia and Australia. Mr Lim speaks 10 languages.
He joined the WA Police Academy in 2006 and had worked across Perth and regional Western Australia. As their diversity engagement officer, he worked with multicultural communities across Perth. In 2020, Mr Lim was awarded Officer of the Year at the Nine News Police Excellence Awards for his role with multicultural communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
