Rod Sims AO has been the chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) from August 2011 until his retirement in March 2022.
He has extensive business and public sector experience, and was chair of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New South Wales, Commissioner on the National Competition Council, chair of InfraCo Asia, director of Ingeus, and member of the Research and Policy Council of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia. Mr Sims was also a director of Port Jackson’s Partners where he advised chief executives and board members from some of Australia’s top 50 companies on commercial corporate strategy. He relinquished all those roles on becoming chair of the ACCC.
In 2022, Mr Sims was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to public administration in economic policy and regulatory roles.
