Gold explorer, Ardiden, will kick off a program of winter drilling at its emerging Kasagiminnis deposit in Ontario, Canada, where it has defined a resource of 110,000 ounces grading at a very respectable 4.4g/t gold. The company has also planned surveys and the drilling of its South Limb prospect, airborne geophysical surveys at the West Pickle prospect and it is reviewing historical data and resource estimates for the Dorothy-Dobie prospect.

ASX listed explorer, Ardiden, has identified a swathe of new targets across the West Pickle and Pickle Lake prospects at its gold play in Ontario, Canada. The targets were identified using a combination of airborne magnetic, electromagnetic or “EM” geophysical surveys and historical data. The company also holds the Kasagiminnis deposit that holds a resource of 110,000 ounces grading at a very respectable 4.4g/t gold.

Ardiden has ploughed into its winter drilling campaign at the South Limb prospect in Canada where the company has designed a seven-hole program across the prospect, which lies only 500 metres along strike from the high-grade Dona Lake gold mine. The drill rig is scheduled to head back to the company’s flagship Kasagiminnis deposit following the completion of drilling at South Limb.

Ardiden has picked up an encouraging hint of gold-bearing mineralisation similar to that of an adjoining historical high-grade gold mine from drilling at one of its high-priority brownfields targets within its Pickle Lake gold project in north-west Ontario, Canada. The company’s South Limb prospect is located immediately along strike of the former Dona Lake mine, which produced 246,500 ounces of gold from ore grading 6.6 g/t before closing in 1993.

Ardiden’s three hard-rock lithium projects in north-west Ontario, Canada may be in play as the company weighs up options to advance its lithium asset portfolio. One of the projects already hosts a resource of 4.8 million tonnes of ore grading 1.25 per cent lithium oxide. Management says it is evaluating strategic alternatives for the projects including retention, potential sales, spin-offs, joint ventures or business collaborations.

Ardiden Limited is set to receive an $8.7m shot in the arm from the proposed sale of 80 per cent of its lithium assets in Canada. The sale will allow the company to focus on the Pickle Lake gold project whilst retaining some lithium upside courtesy of a proposed 20 per cent free carried interest in the lithium assets to be sold.

Ardiden has sealed a joint venture agreement in relation to its hard-rock lithium projects in Canada after new partner Great Northern Lithium gave the nod to acquiring an 80 per cent interest in the assets. Great Northern, which plans to change its name to Green Technology Metals, exercised its option to buy the stake for $8.7 million over the next 18 months.

West Perth-based Asra Minerals has appointed experienced geologist and mining executive Rob Longley as its new Managing Director. Longley was General Manager Geology for Sundance Resources in Africa from 2007 to 2015 and CEO and MD of Helios Gold. His most recent position was CEO and MD of minerals explorer Ardiden and he is also a non-executive director of Green Technology Metals.

Asra Minerals has set up future revenue streams and a carbon credit plan in the Goldfields after completing the full ownership of its Tarmoola Pastoral Station about 25km northwest of Leonora in WA. The tenure takes in a massive 170,000-plus hectare ground position and provides the company will a host of new revenue streams including accommodation, cattle sales and a carbon credit plan.
