Robert Priestley was chief executive of JP Morgan Australia and New Zealand, and a member of the bank’s Asia Pacific Management Committee, roles he held for 15 years. He became non-executive chair of JP Morgan Australia & New Zealand after he retired from his executive position. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has worked at JP Morgan Chase & Co. for 23 years including as chief executive of the ASEAN Region, Head of Global Emerging Markets and Head of International Fixed Income for Europe, Middle East and Africa Region (based in London), and Head of International Fixed Income, Asia Pacific Region (based in Hong Kong). Prior to JP Morgan, Mr Priestley held senior financial markets roles including at Macquarie Bank, after starting his career at Price Waterhouse. He has been a director and chair of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), a member of the Business Council of Australia, and a director of the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN). Mr Priestley is a director of the Banking and Finance Oath, a Council member of the ABCN, and a member of the Tennis NSW Corporate Advisory Board.
