Robert Ang is a graduate in banking and finance from Monash University. His banking career included being vice president of the Bank of America in Jakarta, as the Head of the Foreign Exchange Desk between 1994 and 1997. Between 1998 and 2003, he was posted to Singapore as the director of the Bank of America's Foreign Exchange Trading division. Mr Ang then joined Credit Suisse Bank in Singapore between 2003 and 2006, as a director managing its Asian Currencies trading division. He returned to the Singapore office of Bank of America-Merrill Lynch where he was a director between 2006 and 2010. Mr Ang was also a director of UniCredit Bank AG, based in Hong Kong, from 2012 to 2013. He was director of Forex Trading of The Toronto-Dominion Bank, based in Singapore, in 2013 and 2014. Mr Ang is a portfolio manager of ESW Manage in Singapore where he is responsible for trades in foreign exchange currencies, commodities and stock indices futures.
