Trust exists: PCC told
MINISTRY for Culture & the Arts director general Ricky Burges has assured the Perth City Council the Perth Theatre Trust did exist.
Ricky Burges PSM has extensive senior leadership experience across the public sector in Western Australia.
Mr Burges has been the chief executive of Albany Community Care since 2019, leading a team delivering critical services for the region of Western Australia. She was chief executive of Albany Youth Support Association, chief executive of WA Local Government Association for 19 years where she was involved in amalgamating 4 representative local government associations into the one, director general of the Department for Culture & the Arts, chief executive of Perth Zoo, and director of human resources at the WA Tourism Commission.
Ms Burges was appointed chair of the Great Southern Development Commission in August 2023. She has been a member of the Murdoch University Senate, the board of Nudge (formerly the Roads Foundation), and was president of the Australian Institute of Management and board member of the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Ms Burges was named WA Business Person Of The Year in 1997. In 2007, she was awarded a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service, particularly as the chief executive officer of the Western Australian Local Government Association.
