Rick Malone is an energy, resources and infrastructure lawyer with over 30 years' experience across most aspects of the law. He specialises in resource and energy developments, major contracts and contractual disputes, project approvals (including government, native title, land access and environment), port and rail access and project strategy. Mr Malone has considerable experience in large scale infrastructure projects including aluminium, magnetite, gold, bauxite, mineral sands, coal, diamonds, iron ore, gas and steel plants, mining plant, port infrastructure and operations, power stations, and railways. He has been involved in the development, construction and operation of numerous mines including Argyle, Brockman, Cowal, Channar, Eastern Range, Marandoo, Nammuldi, Yandicoogina, West Angelas, Buzwagi, Bulyanhulu, Madagascar and Sino Iron. His practice extends to international marketing, shipping and supply agreements. Much of this knowledge has been acquired from the variety of diverse roles he held across his career including eight years with a major international resources group where he was involved in the construction, development and operation of large scale mining projects in Western Australia. Mr Malone had substantial commercial experience having been project controller of a project management team, commercial legal manager of an operating mine, and as counsel on a wide range of matters including joint ventures and management agreements.
