Dr Richard Valenta has over 30 years of experience in mineral exploration research, consultancy and management in Australia, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and other parts of Latin America. He has a proven track record for discovery and development of high-grade gold resources.
Dr Valenta spent 13 years in senior roles within TSX- and ASX-listed junior companies, and has held managing director roles since early 2007. He was managing director of Chesser Resources and led the team that took the Kestanelik Epithermal Gold deposit in Turkey through to pre-feasibility before selling the project at a significant premium to the prevailing market. Prior to joining Chesser, Dr Valenta was chief operating officer of TSX-listed Fronteer Development, chief geoscientist of TSX-listed Aurora Energy Resources, and Central American exploration manager for Mount Isa Mines Exploration.
He has a PhD from Monash University, is a Fellow of the AUSIMM, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
