Richard Seet is a qualified accountant, a CPA and a senior member of the Australia Computer Society with over 30 years of working experience in various business sectors. He has held senior management and directorship positions with some of the most successful ASX-listed and private companies in Australia ranging from civil engineering, mining, mining services and supplies, automotive and industrial machinery dealership, heavy steel fabrication and engineering to local government and property development. Mr Seet had managed a large team of accounting, finance and IT professionals and support staff in his previous roles as CFO/CIO and general manager. His career began in Sydney working with a small startup IT software business and then moving on to the other extreme by joining Esso Australia (part of Exxon). Next stop was to Darwin, Northern Territory where he took up a senior role at the Darwin City Council before joining the ASX-listed Henry Walker Group (now part of Leighton Holding and BHP Billiton). His career led him to Perth where he was part of the management group that guided the HWE business to a top 100 ASX-listed enterprise with an annual turnover of over $1B in 2003 having extended its operations to Africa, Central and South America, Indonesia and New Zealand. He later joined Barminco, a specialist underground contract miner, assisting it to extend its operations to West Africa and into mining supplies, and was instrumental in the sale of the business to private equity. Mr Seet then joined FMR Investments (a mining, steel fabrication and investments enterprise) as executive director and general manager. His core skills are in business strategies, systems improvement and change management, financial management, board and line management reporting with key KPI indicators, organisational structure, human resource management and the implementation and execution of key business objectives.
