Senator Richard Colbeck is an Australian politician and a Senator of Tasmania, representing the Liberal Party of Australia from 2002 to 2016, having been first elected at the 2001 federal election.
From September 2015 to July 2016, Senator Colbeck served as the Minister Assisting the Minister for Trade and Investment and the Minister for Tourism and International Education in the First Turnbull Ministry. He was defeated at the 2016 federal election but replaced Stephen Parry in the Senate after a recount of the Senate ballots in Tasmania following Parry's disqualification on account of his dual citizenship. In August 2018, Senator Colbeck became the Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources under the Morrison government. He was subsequently appointed the Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians, Youth and Sport from May 2019. In December 2020, Mr Colbeck relinquished the Youth portfolio and majority of his Aged Care portfolio and took on Aged Care Services instead. He relinquished his ministerial portfolios in May 2022 following the defeat of the Liberal Party at the federal election.
