Airscope takes shot amid global focus
Tech business Airscope Industries is poised for rapid growth after signing up some of the world’s largest oil and gas companies as clients.
Richard Bentley has over 35 years of experience in the spatial industry and a wealth of knowledge in the development and implementation of GIS solutions within a commercial environment. Prior to becoming general manager of Airscope Industries in June 2020, Mr Bentley spent over 2 decades with NGIS as an executive director, company secretary and as business unit leader for Google Products with clients across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to NGIS, he spent 10 years in mineral exploration where he managed GIS for Western Mining Company and was responsible for implementing a company-wide strategy for managing rapid access to data worldwide. He also has seven years of experience as a cartographer in the public sector with large and medium-scale topographic and cadastral mapping (Torrens and Deeds Office systems). He was chair and deputy chair of the Western Australian Land Information System (WALIS) Advisory Committee, that provides key input at a strategic level on the use of spatial data across WA Government and the broader community, and was awarded a WALIS Recognition Pin which recognises individuals who have made a notable contribution to WALIS.
