Rebecca Brown PSM is a career public servant with senior roles across multiple agencies in the WA government, including Treasury, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Deputy DG) and the Department of Health (Deputy DG), where she oversaw transformational change to deliver better outcomes for the community.
Mrs Brown was appointed the director general of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation in September 2018 where she was responsible for attracting investment to WA and overseeing the State Government's agenda to diversify the economy and create jobs for Western Australians. In this role, she is also chief executive of Tourism Western Australia
On 30 March 2020, Mrs Brown became the acting director general at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet until 31 May 2021 when she became the director general at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
In 2023, Mrs Brown was awarded a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service through leadership and management in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
