'Evidence' public service boss stole $25m
UPDATED: There is evidence senior WA public servant Paul Whyte stole up to $25 million or 10 times more than he is currently charged with, a court has heard.
Ray Warnes PSM served the public sector in senior roles for more than 30 years. His contribution to Western Australia was recognised in June 2022 when he was awarded a Public Service Medal.
Mr Warnes was chief executive at the Corruption and Crime Commission from 2015 to 2021, after many years driving major reform at the Department of Justice and over 11.5 years at the Department of the Attorney General.
He passed away in October 2022 after a courageous fight against cancer.
