Rafael Moreno is a Chartered Professional Engineer and an operational executive with over 20 years of experience in the mining and petrochemical industries across Australia, Asia, Europe, North and South America. He has held senior management positions across a variety of projects and throughout their full lifecycle.
Mr Morena has extensive knowledge in project delivery, supply and commercial agreements, and was financially responsible for budgets over USD2billion and leading execution teams all over the world including the Rincon Lithium Project, Santos’ Barossa Project and INPEX’s Ichthys Project.
Mr Morena has been the chief operating officer of Argosy Minerals since May 2022 and is responsible for leadership of project execution & operations for lithium projects in Argentina and Nevada, USA. He is also involved in marketing and investor road show engagements, and offtake and finance negotiations with strategic partners. Mr Moreno will become chief executive of Viridis Mining and Minerals from mid-January 2024.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Chemistry) from Curtin University.
